Notice of appointment of officer

Autify, Inc. (Headquarters: San Francisco US, Japan branch: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Ryo Chikazawa), are pleased to announce that lead back-end engineer Hayato Matsuura has been appointed as CTO as of January 1, 2020.

Since announcing the official launch of AI-based software test automation platform Autify in October 2019, we have supported automation of software tests for a wide range of customers from startups to large companies, contributing to reduced QA cost and increased efficiency.

Hayato will continue to take on the technical leadership in product development and the management of the engineer team. In order to meet the needs of customers with various issues related to software testing, Hayato will make management decisions from a technical perspective.

As Hayato takes the role of CTO, we will continue to work on further strengthening the technical capabilities of Autify.

Profile of Director CTO Hayato Matsuura

After working at a technology trading company that sells servers and builds IT infrastructure, Hayato has been in charge of infrastructure of large-scale community services such as blog service at a major Web service company. He also worked as an infrastructure engineer in charge of a wide range of services from servers of each service to middleware (OS, databases, application servers, configuration management, monitoring, etc.), as well as a team manager. After that, he worked as a technical support engineer related to Rails application and its technical stack at GitHub. Taking advantage of his unique views on MySQL and monitoring tools, he has also translated technical technical books such as “Introduction Monitoring” by O’Reilly Japan Publishing. In addition, he has been actively engaged in outside activities utilizing his experience and knowledge, such as starting up the site “Yakst” which translates and publishes overseas blog articles etc., as well as constructing and operating the site itself. Since April 2019, he has been worked with Autify as an outsourced engineer, and joined Autify as a lead backend engineer in September of the same year.

A comment from Hayato

“Since April 2019, I have been working on improving the test execution environment of Autify as a side job while continuing my work in my previous job. With a growing interest and need for test automation as well as becoming fascinated by its unique internal mechanism and the founding members, Chikazawa and Yamashita, etc, I officially started working as a member of Autify since September 2019. I am thankful that our service is supported by many customers and expectations are increasing at the same time. However, there are still many areas where service maturity is required, and it is necessary to tackle both function implementation and system stability/reliability quickly. I will do my utmost as a CTO by leveraging my experiences and the strengths of our members so that we will continue to grow as a company.”

Hayato will be speaking outside the company for the first time as CTO at “JAWS DAYS 2020 Online”. We will introduce in detail on YouTube Live about the architecture of the infrastructure part of Autify using AWS, which Hayato has been working on since joining Autify.
